These include hidden emblems that are hidden all over the world that can be used to unlock more areas. There are more functions and features being added to the game, such as more overworld maps to explore, minigames to play, and items to use. With this Dreams creation still under production, it's still a work in progress. These levels can all be accessed through the overworld, which is also built in a similar fashion to Sonic Unleashed. As such some of these classic levels have been built to play to the Boost mechanic's strengths, instead of simply remaking the older levels into Dreams. Other levels that can be seen in this creation include a beach-inspired adventure, similar to Seaside Hill from Sonic Heroes. While the levels are from some of the Dreamcast era of Sonic, the primary gameplay involves the Boost mechanic, which has been present in most modern Sonic games since Sonic Unleashed. The use of the original tracks from those games playing in those areas ties into the connection as well.
This includes the open-world the player can explore being Station Square, along with one of the playable levels being the iconic City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2. That being said, there are still elements of that series in the game.
While the title does bring to mind its primary inspiration, the creator has said it is not a full-on remake of Sonic Adventure.
